Every bit of these 3 books hold me to really care about all of the characters. As an amature writer,I wanted to see a few different points,but it a l l was
fun to wait until Ms Shorey got to the ed nd in her way. Truly enjoyed.
This was such a good loving wholesome story. Be sure to read all three in series in order. A definite read!
With her signature sweet romance, Ann Shorey weaves a tale of two people from different backgroungs finding common ground and the hope of a bright future together. great read
I thoroughly enjoyed this series by this talented author. Sweet, uncluttered with filth is always a good read! A must read.
This is the third book in the Sisters at Heart series but could be read as a stand alone as there are few references back to the previous books. The main character is Cassie Haddon. She had been a very spoiled young lady until after the Civil War when her father died and she and her mother had to find a way to support themselves. Much to her mother's dismay, she got a job as a waitress. The book is the story of Cassie working very hard to grow up and take care of herself despite a few problems along way. Its a good read and I highly recommend it along with the other two books in the series.
I plucked this book out while browsing on and am so glad I did. Cassie and her mother have lost everything after the War Between The States. The beginning of the story finds their being evicted from her Uncle's house. They are so used to the antebellum days of having servants to do their work. While Cassie is able to be more realistic and lift herself up by her bootstraps and get a job, her mother has become delusional. The author did a wonderful job of morphing Cassie into an independent woman. Her romantic relationship with her employer Jacob West was nicely developed. What kept me reading the book was the author's ability to keep the story flowing with new obstacles for Cassie. I really enjoyed reading this book!
This is the third book in the Sisters at Heart series. Book 1 was Where the Wildflowers Bloom, and book 2 was When the Heart Heals.

Cassie is devoted to her mother. Maybe a little too devoted. When the two return to Noble Springs, they descend on Rosemary (heroine from book 2), and it seems that Cassie's mother has no intention of leaving. Cassie sees that their presence is affecting her friend's marriage and vows to get out of there. Throwing herself on the mercantile/restaurant owner's mercy, she begs for a job.

Jacob's not sure what possessed him to agree to hiring Cassie, but after a time, she becomes indispensable. Cassie turns his head, but he's significantly older than her and isn't sure that he wants to risk his heart. Also, Jacob's past is coming back to haunt him. Between his past and Cassie's mother, will they be able to find happiness?

I did enjoy this story. The only thing I felt was missing was Cassie's reaction to learning Jacob's past. I don't want to give away details, but I wished that particular element had been addressed. These books are okay to read out of order, even though you read about both Faith and Rosemary in this one. Recommended!
